Catfood WebCamSaver - Help - Add/Edit

Up

WebCamSaver currently supports two types of webcam: static images and Canon WebView Livescope network cameras. All of the default webcams are Canon network cameras that support frequent updates.

Example Canon WebView Livescope applet
Example Canon WebView Livescope applet - for this type of webcam enter the URL of the page where you see the applet.

To add your own webcam enter the URL (for Canon this is the URL of the webpage containing the WebView applet, for static images this should be the URL of the actual image to display), a description and select the type of webcam. Click the Test button to ensure that WebCamSaver is capturing the correct image.

You can optionally add the time zone for the webcam - this enables the local time to be displayed and also allows you to control when the webcam is shown.

Finally, for static images only, you can enter the update frequency for the webcam. The default is two minutes - if you know that the webcam is only updated every fifteen minutes then increase the value accordingly. Canon webcams are updated based on the default refresh interval.
