How can I see another fortune?

If you want to see another fortune just click anywhere in the Fortune Cookies window and another fortune will be displayed.

How do I register Catfood Fortune Cookies?

Run Fortune Cookies and click the Register link to the left of the OK button.

Enter your email address and registration key and then click OK. The Register link should now change to Settings.

How do I add more fortunes to Catfood Fortune Cookies?

Run Fortune Cookies and click the Settings link to the left of the OK button (if Settings does not appear then you need to register Fortune Cookies first - see above).

Click Add to add a new cookie file to your collection. You will need to enter the path to the cookie file and a name. Fortune Cookies will build an index when adding the file - this may take a minute or two for large collections.

The cookie file needs to be formatted so that each fortune is separated by the % symbol on a new line - for example:

AIBOHPHOBIA - the fear of palindromes.
%
I was the next door kid's imaginary friend.
%
If you believe in telekinesis, raise my hand.

(Fortune Cookies also supports the older Fortune.txt format - this will automatically be displayed in the cookie collection if present).

Click Edit to change the name or path of an existing cookie file.

Click Remove to remove a cookie file from your collection.

You cannot edit or remove the internal fortunes (or Fortune.txt if available).

Use the checkbox at the left of each cookie file to enable or disable the fortunes. You must have at least one enabled cookie file.

How do I make Catfood Fortune Cookies output to a file?

Run Fortune Cookies with the path of the file to output as a command line argument - for example:

C:\"Program Files"\"Catfood Software"\"Fortune Cookies"\Fortune fortune.txt

will output a fortune to fortune.txt in the current directory (assuming that Fortunes Cookies is installed in the default location).
