Check Skip update when Desktate first loads if you find that you're waiting for Desktate to complete the first update when Windows loads. When this option is selected the first update will occur after the number of minutes set for Update Frequency on the General tab.
Sunset/sunrise duration affects the blending between day and night regions of the current image. If this field is set to 0 then the terminator between day and night will be plotted as a sharp line. Higher settings simulate twilight by blending the day and night images around the terminator. If you specify 6 degrees then the images will be blended between the sun being 6 degrees above the horizon and 6 degrees below it.
Maximum night image transparency is the transparency used to blend the day and night images together when it is completely dark. At 0% just the night image is used. Higher settings will allow the day image to be partially seen through the night image.
Check Plot current location to attempt to geo-locate your computer. Desktate will attempt to look up the longitude and latitude of your IP address at http://www.hostip.info/. If your IP address can be found Desktate will plot it using the font and color specified for the places layer and the description on this page. If your current location is not displayed this could be because your IP address is not in the database (visit http://www.hostip.info/ to check), you are not connected to the Internet or the geo-location service is not available.
Click Reset Settings to restore all settings to their defaults.
Click Save Images to save one or more Desktate images. See the Save World Image help page for detailed instructions.
Check Enable Diagnostic Logging to save a log file to your Desktop (Catfood Desktate Log File.log). This log file can be used by Catfood Support to diagnose any problems with Catfood Desktate.
Check Alternative Screen Update if Catfood Desktate fails to update your Desktop wallpaper.
